Why do you do it? Because I absolutely love it. I hope everyone has the same answer to this question.
What do you love about the city you live in? So many things. The music scene and the people, of course. The food. I've been really fortunate to have travelled a fair bit in work and life, and so much of the best food I've had has been here. The Sun Theatre in Yarraville. It's my local, and going to the movies makes me very happy. The walks.
Where did you go for your last holiday? Between the last two COVID lockdowns, it was a weekend in Beechworth. I had a vegan banquet at The Provenance which was to die for. Accompanied by a lot of Amaro.
What's your favourite item of clothing? A pair of black trousers I bought a couple of years ago. They're the most beautifully made pants I've ever bought. I won't be surprised if they outlive me.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid? 'The X Files'. I was obsessed with it when I was about 11 years old. I'd binge it, scare the sh.t out of myself, wouldn't sleep, then binge it again the next day. I had the board game, the soundtrack CD (enter my love for Nick Cave) and a t-shirt.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go? Paris, with my sister.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Tandoori chickpeas. This incredible dish by Noor Murad (head chef in Yotam Ottolenghi's test kitchen), which I've made maybe 50 times during COVID. It's impossible to mess up. With cocktails to go with.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned? Life is short. I really do have this at the forefront of my mind almost always, it informs so much of what I do. I don't take things for granted. I always make time to have fun. I never go to bed angry. I try to make life easier for others wherever I can. I appreciate. I do what I love and I surround myself with awesome people.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows... If I haven't shared, it's because it's either too embarrassing or too boring to be out there. Think I’ll keep it that way.
Are you happy with your work / life balance? Yes. At last! It slips at times, but mostly I've got the hang of it.
How do you define success? Reaching your goals without compromising your values or relationships.
What's your spirit animal? A swan. Striving for calm and elegance, but paddling like a maniac underneath.
