Why do you do it? I chose to do this because when I was working in more corporate environments, I got sick of all the pretence and hoop jumping that was required. One day I realised the only thing I was getting out of my work life was money, and for me, that just wasn't enough to keep me engaged and inspired to offer my best.
Helping others to realise that life can be an adventure of your own choosing is what gets me out of bed each morning, and I can't imagine doing anything else.
What do you love about the city you live in? I have travelled worldwide and seen cities of every shape and size. For me, Adelaide is the perfect mix of relaxed country living and the excitement of a young city still finding its identity. The fact that it isn't too far away from the ocean helps.
Where did you go for your last holiday? My last holiday was down to Robe on the Limestone Coast. Perfect weather, excellent waves and a family connection made it the ideal Christmas break.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Has to be my Akubra hat. I got it on a road trip to Alice Springs, and it's a classic.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid (if you've got kids, what's your favourite show to watch with them?)? The TV show my family likes to sit down and watch together at the moment is 'Modern Family', though I must admit, it is concerning how similar to the doofus dad 'Phil' it turns out I am. My favourite, however, has to be 'Seinfeld'. I grew up watching it and still love it to this day.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go? I would return to my wedding day and really soak it in. At the time I was so nervous that I kinda forgot to enjoy it.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? You could expect curries and plenty of conversation.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned? Hmmmm, great question. I think when I realised that the past doesn't have to determine the present, even less the future. You can make a conscious decision to change your path and improve your situation at any moment. Dream big, be kind, and have fun!
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows... I'm not precisely a nature boy regarding wild animals, and I have a massive fear of monkeys.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance? My work-life balance is very satisfying. Find something you love to do, put your heart and soul into it, and you won't work a day in your life.
How do you define success? A classic line in a Ben Harper song says something like, 'when you get there, they won't ask how much you saved, but how much you gave'. That pretty much sums up my idea of success. Offer the best of yourself in each moment, surround yourself with others doing the same, and you will have everything you could ever possibly need.
What's your spirit animal? The yellow-tailed black cockatoo, so majestic and free.
