Own and operate Comics Etc, a comic book store located in Elizabeth Street, Brisbane. I mainly do all the fun stuff now like order and unpack new toys and comics on a daily basis while researching what comic fads kids are into these days. So basically I spend all day looking at comics on a computer, get up from my chair and unpack comics and sit down again and order more comics.
Why do you do it?
It really is the best job in the world. You are surrounded by fellow nerds all day who share your interests. Whist I have NEVER read a comic on the job before, being surrounded by them 12 hours a day is stimulation enough.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I love that everyone knows someone who knows someone in Brisbane. We are still a small city compared to the other capitals and it seems that whenever you meet someone new there is a link to someone else you know.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Japan. Best thing about being a nerd is that you can constantly get away with going on nerd holidays.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
I have a pair of Kermit the Frog Adidas shoes that seem to live on my feet permanently at the moment.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
Ducktales! That Scrooge McDuck was just a jerk but every episode you wanted him to win. Bonus point for still being watchable today unlike most shows from the 1990s.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Would have to be greedy and go back to the early '80s and buy shares in Apple and Betamax.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
Chilli Con Carne. It is the perfect combination of the best meals ever, tacos and nachos.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
It is okay to say no. You can’t please everyone and there is nothing wrong with being honest and saying no.

I do math in the shower.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Hard question. Comics Etc is a 12 hour a day, 6 day a week job. And I love every minute of it. Having said that I would kill for an 8 day week so I could have 2 days off every now and then.
How do you define success?
Success is when you create a positive place that people leave happier then when they arrived.
