I am a social worker by profession, but have always had a passion for art. I paint for pleasure and to make sense of the world around me. I am excited to be represented by 19Karen Contemporary Artspace so I can paint for others.
Why do you do it?
If I don't paint I get grumpy.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I grew up in Sydney and moved to the Central Coast for work. I then headed up north to Bangalow and have now settled in the town of Bowral. I miss the brainfood that city life offers but appreciate what small towns have to offer when raising a family.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
So long ago, but I vaguely remember heading to the south coast and kayaking on crystal clear waters spotting dolphins in the distance. Bliss.
What's your favourite item of clothing?
Anything that allows me to look respectable, but also enables me to multitask. It has to be easy to wash to remove paint stains and I refuse to use an iron.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
When I was a kid I loved ‘The Goodies’ and ‘Doctor Who’. As a family we get competitive watching ‘Family Feud’ – sad I know.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
As long as it didn't kill me I wouldn't mind frolicking with some dinosaurs for a day.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
Mostly people come over and cook for me. I don't have the best reputation as a cook but you are most welcome to use my kitchen.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
That it is ok to make mistakes and fail as this is an opportunity to LEARN.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I am an open book so that is hard.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
Mostly because I am not one to sit still. Every day involves constant movement from the home, art studio, the school, supermarket and reluctantly the kitchen. There is never enough time for the art though.
How do you define success?
Being at peace and not worrying about what everyone else is doing.
What's your spirit animal?
A bird.
