All of the things! Mainly video game related, like the massive videogame festival PAX Australia that I manage all the content and communication for. Or the video game cocktail bar Mana Bar which I created. Or just play a lot of video games.
Why do you do it?
Because it’s an absolute blast to get the gaming community together and celebrate our hobby! PAX Australia is like a ‘Woodstock’ for gamers, it’s so satisfying.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I love the iconic nightlife that’s inherent to Sydney City. There’s a great craft bar scene starting to pop up around the inner suburbs lately that’s really enhancing the local flavour of the area as well.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
I’ve actually just spent the last three months over in America, working on PAX Prime and New York Comic Con. It’s important to keep looking at what new things the American shows are doing to see if there’s anything cool we can learn and implement here in Australia.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
Black T-shirt & Jeans. It’s a clothing habit born out of working behind a bar — you simply can’t go wrong with that combo. Throw on a suit jacket and you’re instantly formal. It’s timeless attire.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
Eric is Bananaman. Ever alert for the call to action!
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Depends — would I be current me, or would I transfer into the body of young me? Could I travel any WHERE, or just somewhere only in Sydney? Could I take anything back with me, or is this a Terminator time travel scenario where I’d arrive naked. Dammit, I can’t answer this question with so many variables!
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
I wouldn’t do that to you, I’m a terrible cook. You bring the food, I’ll mix the cocktails.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
It’s always worth the risk.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I love doing karaoke with Disney songs. I know all the words.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Yup, but mainly because my work doesn’t feel like ‘work’. I get to throw the biggest video game party of the year, it’s difficult not to have fun.
How do you define success?
When someone else is affected positively because of something I did.
What's your spirit animal?
A WOLVERINE! No, no, that’s just silly. THE MIGHTY LION! No, no, that’s too cliché. How about a squirrel, those things are SO CUTE!
