Why do you do it?
Discovering new music and the satisfaction of a successful campaign. It’s nice to be able to think that when a gig we’ve been working on is a sell out, that we had something to do with that.
What do you love about the city you live in?
Food and music. Let’s face it, it’s not the weather. There’s always tasty, hidden gems waiting to be discovered in Melbourne and the live music scene just gets better and better.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Merimbula. Not quite sure if you’d call it a holiday though… seven kids (age six and under) and four mums – we were definitely understaffed! Next holiday will involve more cocktails and less kids.
What's your favourite item of clothing?
My red and white snake-skin cowboy boots… although they don’t fit me anymore (yep, it’s quite common for feet to get bigger after babies), many great festivals and gigs were seen wearing those boots. Ahh, the memories.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
‘Agro’s Cartoon Connection’. He was almost like Australia’s answer to Animal from ‘The Muppets’; I loved those crazy guys.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
The Bee Gee’s tour in New Zealand in the mid-to-late ‘60s… my dad’s band was the support act and I want to see if his set lives up to the hype! That and I want to see him rockin’ his massive afro and bellbottoms!
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Hmm, that’s a tough one…
It’d be something tasty, most likely Asian inspired. My pork gyoza style dumplings are always a winner, followed by soy-braised beef cheeks with an Asian herb slaw, mmm yum!
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Stay true to yourself.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows…
I know ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ by heart.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
I’m one of those lucky ones who actually really enjoys their job; the lines can often be blurred because we have that much fun at On The Map! I do have an amazing amount of flexibility in this job, so I don’t miss out on any of my kids’ activities – as the boss lady says: “family first”, God love her! Work/ life balance would be spot on I’d say.
How do you define success?
Happiness! Am I successful? YESSSS!
What's your spirit animal?
I’d like to say something cool like a tiger or a lioness, but in reality I’m more like the mother hen, obviously to my kids, but I always feel a need to put others before myself and making sure everybody is having a good time and is well looked after.
