Why do you do it? I love music, and the arts in general. I've lived in regional NSW for eight years and want to contribute to the vibrant music in this area.
What do you love about the city you live in? So many things. I appreciate the access to local, fresh food, the mix of relaxed lifestyle and business opportunities in the area, and I'm originally from Canada so I kind of have to say the weather!
Where did you go for your last holiday? Japan. Always Japan. It's the best! I like the countryside and my most recent visit was to Hyogo.
What's your favourite item of clothing? New t-shirt my friend designed. Because it was a gift and because I know the meaning behind the symbols.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid? (If you've got kids, what's your favourite show to watch with them?) For me. . . That's a tough one. I'll go with 'The Wonder Years'. For kids. . . that's easy: 'Bungo Stray Dogs'.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go? Anywhere with a good view of the landscape around one million years ago. It would be cool just to get a sense of how things looked and felt back then.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Salmon, miso soup, and rice.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned? 'Whatever you do, do with your might, things done by halves are never done right.' My grandfather taught me that.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows... In the late '90s I could do a pretty decent headspin.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance? Yes. I'm fortunate that a large part of my work is stuff 'I get to do' rather than stuff 'I have to do'. When work is enjoyable the balance is a lot more manageable. Of course I make time to switch off, be healthy, and hang out with the people I care about.
How do you define success? The definition is always context specific. These days I'm working on a combination of being disciplined with my time and putting forth my maximum effort.
