I'm an announcer for 4zzz. My show's called Thursday Mixtape and we air from 12am-2m Thursday mornings. I also write and read the news as part of the 4zzz news team.
Why do you do it?
I love the music and radio industry. I think it's an important industry to keep alive, especially when it supports local musicians.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I love Brisbane because of the strong art scene we have. There really is something for everyone — music, drama, art, I've seen brilliant people from all areas here.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
For my last holiday I went back home to Canada to see my family and friends (and to do some skiing, of course).
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
I love Converse shoes because I feel they can go with any outfit; the low tops to go with shorts in the summer or hightops in the winter or to add to a suit if you want to be rock and roll and stick it to the man.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
I loved (and still do) 'Pokemon'. I would watch it every afternoon when I got back from school and I remember one morning missing my bus (I was in Grade One) because I had to see the end of the show.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
I would love to either go back and see the dinosaurs or go to a Beatles or Queen concert.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
I would have to cook you my home made chilli con carne as it is the best thing I'm able to cook.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Your first girlfriend in high school is not worth getting a $700 phone bill for.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I've actually written a lot of poetry — not song lyrics, but actual poetry.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
I'm very happy with my work/life balance. I love the work I'm doing so it doesn't feel like work. It would be what I do in my spare time, so really the only thing better than this would be getting paid to sit on my couch playing video games with my friends.
How do you define success?
I think success can be defined as the moment you're able to do what you love to do without having to worry about other issues. It shouldn't be measured by money but by happiness; if you're happiest living in a tree in the wilderness and you get to go and live in a tree in the wilderness everyday then you're successful.
What's your spirit animal?
I'd really want it to be something cool like a tiger, a shark or an eagle, but in reality I'm probably more of a house cat. I love naps and people feeding me.
