Daniel Seymour - scenestr of the day

What do you do? I work as a publicist and digital marketer for the lovely and intrepid Beehive PR.

Why do you do it? I'm deeply passionate about helping artist's achieve their dreams and goals within music, no matter how big or small. If there is a great song and a vision, I want to help guide artist's along a strategic path that will lead them to their goal.

What do you love about the city you live in? Brisbane. Often referred to as the Greatest City On Earth – it's got a beautiful outdoor lifestyle, plenty of sun and an amazing entertainment precinct that allows you to see a band or two virtually any night of the week.

Where did you go for your last holiday? A few weeks ago I managed to sneak away to Burleigh on the Gold Coast for a couple of nights. We proceeded to get supremely burnt and bring the beach home with us – but hey, it was heaps of fun.

What's your favourite item of clothing? Birkenstocks and socks. Why? All style and comfort.

What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid? We had a strict 'No Simpsons' policy in our house, haha – so I missed out on the classic. BUT, we couldn't go wrong with sprinting home from school and watching 'Rollercoaster' in the afternoon.

If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go? This may not be the most exciting answer, but I'd pay very good money to go back and attend Big Day Out in 2000. Blink-182, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and all in their prime – it would be a WILD day out.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? I can throw together a mean chilli and prawn linguine, otherwise working from home means I've become an expert in whipping together a tofu fried rice in under ten minutes.

What's the best lesson you've ever learned? Kindness costs nothing.

Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows... I've got half a fake tooth. When I was 12 I jumped my bike off a ledge, landed face first and proceeded to bleed everywhere, chipping my tooth and leading to an emergency dentist visit.

Are you happy with your work/ life balance? Absolutely. Being able to work with such a lovely and passionate team, on campaigns with artist's who excite me daily is really the dream. I count myself very lucky.

How do you define success? My view of success has definitely evolved over time, but I'd like to think that success is leaving a positive impact on the world – making a difference in whatever small part of the earth that you occupy.

What's your spirit animal? A hamster running on a little wheel.
