I am a full time sales coordinator by day and I pursue my arty interests by night. Currently I'm working mainly in pastel and pencil illustrations but my choice of medium changes from time to time.
Why do you do it?
I make art because I love it and it helps to de clutter my brain and keep things balanced. I have a 9-5 office job because it allows me to do grown-up things like pay rent and buy groceries.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I really like brunching, so I enjoy that especially lately in seems there's always a new cafe to try.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Other than the odd 3-day trip to the beach or Sydney/ Melbourne, my last real holiday was New York five years ago for my 21st birthday. Usually when I take any time off from my day-job I take full advantage of the opportunity to get more artwork done.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
I have a new favourite actually. A black pencil skirt with a snakeskin type pleather panel. It makes me feel like a modern version of a 50's pinup girl. The secretary kind.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
I watched 'after-school' shows and Saturday Disney but in particular I remember watching 'Friends' and 'Buffy' with mum from about the age of eight. I still watch reruns of Friends during the week while I'm making dinner. Never gets old.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
I'd like to spend a day at Andy Warhol's Silver Factory, specifically March 1965 when he and Edie Sedgwick first started making movies together.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
Something in my Thermomix. It's my new best friend. Tonight I made San Choy Bow.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
The weirdest kids make the best adults.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
Nothing. I don't like secrets and surprises. I can never manage to keep anything to myself for too long.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
It's a work in progress.
How do you define success?
Feeling satisfied with what I've achieved.
What's your spirit animal?
A Chihuahua with a blingy collar.
