Annie Last - scenestr of the day

What do you do?
I’m an actor. [Annie will appear in When Dad Married Fury at Twelfth Night Theatre from September 13-14.]

Why do you do it?
I absolutely love it!

What do you love about the city you live in?
Melbourne is very down to earth, multicultural and creative.

Where did you go for your last holiday?
Hobart, Tasmania with my family (parents, siblings, nieces and nephews — a big group!)

What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
A pair of blue leather espadrille wedges, because they look like something Penelope Cruz would have worn in the film Volver.

What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
E Street.

If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
My first thought was to go to Berlin, January 1933, when Hitler took power in Germany. I studied history before acting and have spent a lot of time in Berlin. In particular I would like to be there the night the Nazis marched through the Brandenbrug Gate in a martial torchlight parade, celebrating Hitler's rise to power and introducing the darkest chapter of German history. It would be horrifying and intriguing.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?

Salmon and feta pasta, with lots of lemon juice and a glass of Sav Blanc!

What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
To be true to myself.

Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
Not many people know that I love snakes and am a trained snake handler!

Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Yes, although I’m always happy to work more — I’m happiest when I have multiple projects.

How do you define success?
Day to day contentment, with a healthy balance of striving for one’s goals and accepting and appreciating what life has given me.

What's your spirit animal?
A grey wolf.
