I am an actor and Co-Artistic Director of The Good Room (alongside Daniel Evans). [The Good Room hosts Brisbane Festival's Basement Mixtape: Blue Light Frisco at Metro Arts on Saturday September 7.]
Why do you do it?
Because I can't help myself. Performing is like crack. Always need my next hit.
What do you love about the city you live in?
The sun (most of the time) and the people — we are chilled and easy and and it's a great city to sit on porches and drink wine (or gin).
Where did you go for your last holiday?
California. LA is a bit of a shithole but San Diego is the bomb.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
I don't have a fave, but I like ugly things. I have an '80s leather/suede jacket and it has studs on it and it's ugly and it's up there with my top items.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
City of Gold — at least I think that is what it is called, but I'm too scared to find it in case it ruins the fond memory in my brain. Oh, I also loved Fraggle Rock.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Hmm.... I reckon I would go back to the '60s and check it out, or, like Elizabethan times (but I would want to be rich in both cases).
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
Mexican!!
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Don't go for second best, baby. Put your lover to the test.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
Now why would I do that???? Then it would not be a secret any more. Silly.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Yeah, sure, but I mean I could always do with some more time on tropical islands.
How do you define success?
The ongoing continuation of being rad. No, really, life changes — things happen and plans don't always work out but I don't think they should, otherwise how boring. So I say success is just going for it — in whatever way and having as much fun as you can while you do it.
What's your spirit animal?
A flying lion.
