Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees ZZ Top, along with George Thorogood & The Destroyers, will tour Australia in 2025.
The boogie-blues rockers, synonymous for such rock anthems as 'La Grange', 'Sharp Deressed Man', 'Gimme All Your Lovin'' and 'Tush' will headline concerts in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney next April-May. The tour will also include festival appearances at Red Hot Summer Tour, with dates in Bendigo, Mornington, Hunter Valley, Wollongong and Brisbane.That 'little ol' band from Texas' have been delivering the goods for 55 years, creating a worldwide cult following for their beards, hotrod cars, spinning guitars and those magic keychains.
ZZ Top's current line-up feature original members Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard alongside Elwood Francis, who was drafted into the band in 2021 following the death of longtime bassist-vocalist Dusty Hill (who requested Francis, his guitar tech, join the group).
Referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms, ZZ Top are true rock icons and, against all odds, they're really just doing what they've always done.
Since the mid '70s, George Thorogood & The Destroyers have released 16 studio albums, playing a staggering 8,000 live shows (touring Australia as recently as 2022), cementing their status as legends of blues rock (alongside ZZ Top).
With an arsenal of hits including 'Get A Haircut', 'I Drink Alone', 'One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer', 'Move It On Over', 'Who Do You Love' and the ultimate badass anthem 'Bad To The Bone', George and his longtime band – Jeff Simon (drums, percussion), Bill Blough (bass guitar), Jim Suhler (rhythm guitar) and Buddy Leach (saxophone) – guarantee one hell of a night of rock & roll.
The Red Hot Summer Tour dates will see ZZ Top and George Thorogood & The Destroyers joined by The Living End, Baby Animals, Rose Tattoo and Dallas Frasca.
Tickets to the standalone concerts as well as Red Hot Summer Tour are on sale from 1pm (local time) on 9 December.
