Next week, Australian singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts plays his first Byron Bay concert in four years with a special pop-up show at new venue The Green Room that's located on the Bluesfest site.
The show will feature Ziggy performing material from his 2022 album 'Dancing In The Dark' and 2021 record 'Searching For Freedom' as well as other emotional ballads and heel-tapping tunes from Alberts' catalogue. "'Dancing In The Dark' is a really different record to 'Searching For Freedom'," Ziggy told us late last year.
"On a production level, even the songs themselves it's such a different album. Yin and yang albums, which is kind of fitting because that's what I wanted to achieve.
"On a songwriting level, I think I definitely found new territory, new topics. Songs like 'Rewind' are a massive breakthrough for me; it's the first kind of bossa nova track I've written.
"The title track, how it was presented was a real highlight. It's already been incredible, and the journey hasn't even started, I haven't even toured the album yet."
The one-off Byron Bay show heralds the start of Ziggy's 'Rewind' world tour that commences next month in Europe and the UK.
Ziggy Alberts plays The Green Room (Byron Bay) 9 March.
