This weekend will be Melbourne's chance to swap their bedrooms for a main stage at the Your Shot registration day.
With thousands of registrations for 2013 already in Brisbane and Sydney, DJ competition Your Shot has proven it gets bigger and better each year. The ante has been upped on the prizes, which include a set at Stereosonic 2013 and a chance to perform at one of three overseas destinations – Paradise Club in Mykonos, Womb in Tokyo or Yacht Week in Croatia – as well as a myriad of other prize packs.
This weekend, Melbourne gets in on the action with its own registration day at the Royal Melbourne Hotel on Saturday May 25.Since its 2010 conception in Sydney, which saw 1,000 registrations in the first week and sold out crowds at the renowned Greenwood Hotel, Your Shot has expanded nation wide and spawned a long list of winners and success stories. The 2012 competition attracted crowds of over 10,000 and over 4,300 entrants apply in less than three weeks, and 2013 is predicted to be even bigger.
Absolutely no music or DJ experience is necessary to apply. The successful 72 contestants from each city (Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne) will receive six weeks of intensive DJ training before performing their very first DJ set at a jam packed, two day event in their respective states.
