Far North Queensland will come alive this October thanks to the return of Yarrabah Music And Cultural Festival, featuring a big line-up.

Yarrabah is a free event – capstone of the Tropics Trail leg of Queensland Music Trails – which has a spot on the calendar for locals and travellers alike, bringing together those keen for a good boogie as well as a celebration of the world’s oldest living culture. . . Set among tropical Far North Queensland.

The 2023 line-up features Jessica Mauboy, Electric Fields, Jessie Lloyd and Yarrabah Brass Band.

“I am more than honoured to be headlining Yarrabah Music And Cultural Festival this year for QLD Music Trails!” Headliner Jessica Mauboy says. “I am looking forward to October and can’t wait to see all the smiling faces in Yarrabah on Gunggandji Country! See you all there!”

Yarrabah is just an hour’s drive from Cairns, nestled between rolling green hills and crystalline sea. This all-ages event combines impressive musical acts, visual arts and flavours, with some of Australia’s brightest stars from the Yarrabah community and beyond.

It’s a gathering place for original storytellers, and artists of all forms, to celebrate a rich history and contribute to the region’s future.

“Yarrabah Music And Cultural Festival drives significant visitation and positive social and economic impact for the region and a headliner like Jessica Mauboy is a great way to put Yarrabah on the map as one of the world’s most unique music festivals,” Local Mayor Ross Andrews says.

"To have one of Australia’s most successful artists performing as part of our 2023 event is a major coup. We look forward to welcoming Jessica to the region for a full day of live music, food stalls, local art, culture and kids rides.”

As well as music, Yarrabah will host a range of workshops including weaving, wood artefact making, shell necklace, and damper making workshops.

“Yarrabah Music And Cultural Festival is very dear to QMF’s heart and we are thrilled to be able to work with the community to deliver a great experience again for people around the country,” QMF and Queensland Music Trails CEO Joel Edmonson says. “There are few other places in Australia that you can participate in an experience of country like this.”
