Two of the biggest icons in hip hop, Wu-Tang Clan and Nas are bringing their N.Y. State Of Mind Tour down under in 2023.
The undisputed OGs will headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in May.The New York collective of RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, and Cappadonna (RIP Ol' Dirty Bastard), Wu-Tang Clan have released seven studio albums with their seminal debut 'Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)' marking its 30th anniversary November 2023.
Their most recent album was the one-off 2015 'Once Upon A Time In Shaolin', which was limited to a single, one-off copy and can't be reproduced commercially until 2103 (and is the most expensive work of music ever sold).
Wu-Tang Clan are also successful cultural influencers, with an empire that features everything from clothing lines and video games to books and acting credits.
After being introduced with his track 'Halftime' that featured on 1992 'Zebrahead' movie soundtrack, Nas blew up in 1994 with his debut longplayer 'Illmatic' (that featured the cuts: 'It Ain't Hard To Tell', 'The World Is Yours', and 'One').
Nas achieved mainstream success with his follow-up record, 1996's 'It Was Written' (#1 R&B album for 7 weeks, #1 pop for 4 weeks), with his first crossover singles 'Street Dreams' and 'If I Ruled The World (Imagine That)'.
Nas has also had a successful acting career including his co-starring role (alongside DMX) in the 1998 cult classic crime drama 'Belly'; Nas was also the executive producer of the 2016 Netflix series 'The Get Down', and is the co-founder of Mass Appeal Records.
