It was just two weeks ago that we were all laughing at a reporter for asking the world's dumbest question, before it turned out he was in on the joke. Now '90s pop sensation Lou Bega — responsible for one of the worst hits of all time, 'Mambo No 5' — has claimed that a reporter confused him with the legendary Lou Reed, who passed away this week.
Bega hasn't provided any links or cited any other evidence of the mix-up, but he insists there's a journalist out there who doesn't know their Reeds from their Begas. He took to Facebook to clear up the alleged confusion, and offer his own condolences to Reed.
RIP Lou Reed the Genius who took Walks on the Wild side. PS. I have been receiving Tons of condolences because of a Journalist confusing our Identities. Lou Bega sends his condolences to mr. Reeds Family.
The post (which was accompanied by a selfie, because that's what you do at funerals) raises all sorts of questions: Is anybody really dumb enough to confuse 'Walk On The Wild Side' with 'Mambo No 5'? Is Lou Bega really desperate enough for attention to make this up? Has anyone contacted Monica, Erica, Rita, Tina, Sandra, Mary and Jessica to let them know Lou's okay?
And finally, why couldn't Lou Bega have been taken instead?
