Another day, another mega-line-up.
The Woodford Folk festival has revealed the slew of artists who will comprise the bill this year, and yet again the event will tick both boxes: quality and quantity. The lineup is massive, listing over 400 acts. Big names this year will include Kate Miller-Heidke, Angus Stone, Emma Louise, Urthboy, Cub Scout, Hermitude, John Butler Trio and The Saints.
Woodford Folk Festival will celebrate its 27th birthday this year, from December 27 to January 1. The venue is a 500-acre environmental parkland located on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, about an hour north of Brisbane.
Each year the forces that be converge to build the quaint little makeshift village of Woodfordia, which hosts over 20,000 visitors for the folk festival, and during the event becomes the 67th largest town in Australia. At festival's end, Woodfordia disappears for another year.
Despite what its name suggests, the Woodford Folk Festival is about more than just folk music. Artists span a wide range of backgrounds and the programme features a comprehensive mix of visual art, music, comedy, film and more. For ticketing information and the full programme, go here.
