WOMADelaide's 2024 programme has added another four international artists, with three of them Australian exclusives.
The son of an Afrobeat legend, and a trailblazer in his own right, Nigerian Seun Kuti brings his father's former band Egypt 80 exlusively. The Grammy-nominated singer and saxophonist has led Egypt 80 since the passing of Fela Kuti in 1997 – in 2023 they collaborated with Janelle Monte and C'mon Tigre.Formally of The Slits final incarnation, English singer and keyboard player Hollie Cook ('Milk & Honey') brings he reggae-flavoured lovers rock exclusively.
The daughter of Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook and Culture Club backing vocalist Jeni Cook – and the goddaughter of Boy George no less – Cook continues her family's music legacy with a sound distinctly her own.
Amsterdam's Mauskovic Dance Band exclusively bring their space rhythms, dubby percussion and heavy bass to create hypnotic grooves with airtight arrangements to fire-up the dancefloor.
An electronic music producer and DJ remixing Arabic classics paired with club sounds, Saliah (pronounced 'Saal-yah') made her Glastonbury debut in 2022 and has supported Lady Leshurr, Miss Melody, and Omar Souleyman.
These four join the already revealed The Budos Band, Corinne Bailey Rae (exclusive), Cymande, Emel Mathlouthi (exclusive), José González, Nitin Sawhney (exclusive), Thee Sacred Soul, Yussef Dayes and Ziggy Marley (exclusive) amongst a 71-strong artist line-up covering all corners of the globe.
