After enthralling audiences on their sold-out national tour earlier in 2023, alternative pop, indie rock duo Winterbourne return to the road in August-September.
The pairing of James Draper and Jordan Brady have also released their newest single 'Velvet, Honey & Wine', a brooding yet energetic bop that'll have feet dancing everywhere.'Velvet, Honey & Wine' – a self-produced song that their long-time friend and collaborator Jackson Barclay (Vera Blue, Hollow Coves) mixed – follows their 2022 singles 'Long Distance Runner' and 'Forevermore'.
With an ever expanding 37 million global streams to their name, Winterbourne will headline gigs in their home town Gosford before travelling to Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Canberra, Albury, Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat.
"'Velvet, Honey & Wine' emerged entirely around the bass riff that introduces the song," shares James.
"We originally wrote the riff in 2018 to a bouncy drum loop in an attempt to write an ABBA-esque bop with strong indie rock flavours and a tight and bouncy rhythm attached to it at every stage, and a whisper-like yet singable melody, which eventually makes its way into a soaring three-part vocal harmony.
"It's a new sound we have been waiting to share, but at the same time, it is undoubtedly a Winterbourne song."
