Brisbane winter just got a little warmer, thanks to an eclectic series of concerts set to take over Brisbane Powerhouse this June.
After the launch of the Brisbane Powerhouse’s boundary-pushing OHM festival, they’re bringing a sizzling, diverse selection of artists across June as Brisbane cools down and the Powerhouse heats up.
First up at the start of June is Melbourne’s Cash Savage And The Last Drinks, serving up tough and tender rock ’n’ roll. Earlier this year, Cash Savage released two singles ‘Keep Working At Your Job’ and ‘$600 Short On The Rent’, the latter the focus single for album ‘So This Is Love’. They’re set to bring an emotional and intense live performance to the stage.
Chart-topping disco king Cerrone is next – bringing his electronic, funky beats to Brisbane Powerhouse with a performance featuring a compilation of his reworked catalogue. The French disco artist, drummer, singer-songwriter and producer has sold more than 30 million records worldwide. Just last month, he released his latest single ‘A Part Of You’ using AI technology and sampled vocals from Disclosure’s ‘You & Me’. Get ready to groove.
Icelandic singer-songwriter Asgeir will join the winter festivities. The musician has spent the ten years since his record-breaking debut album, pushing the boundaries of his brand of folk-pop. Asgeir will bring his acclaimed discography to the stage.
South African-based artist Desire Marea is a unique act, and culmination of many voices – a mouthpiece for a choir of spirits and entities. His latest album, ‘On The Romance Of Being’, was recorded live, with an ensemble of 13 musicians. Prior to being a solo act, Desire was a member of the beloved Joburg collective, FAKA, who toured the world extensively.
