After remaining dormant for seven years, heavy music and dark arts showcase, Dead Of Winter Festival returns to Brisbane's live calendar in 2026.
Originally launching in 2009 and offering the local scene a safe space for likeminded community to gather to celebrate heavy music, dark art and alternative culture, Dead Of Winter was last staged in 2019.
Across that decade, the festival built solid momentum, morphing from a mostly local, DIY, underground movement into one of Queensland's most sought-after metal-rock gigs.
The likes of Cog, Disentomb, Mammal, Bodyjar, 28 Days, Polaris, Ocean Grove, and Frenzal Rhomb featured on the bill for either the 2018 or 2019 line-ups.
Set to lock down at its new home at Mansfield Tavern in Brisbane's southern suburbs on 27 June, Dead Of Winter offers more than just live music.
From performance art, horror cosplay, and dark markets to visual installations and immersive experiences, Dead Of Winter is the ultimate alternative culture playground.
Always loud. Always theatrical. Always welcoming and above all, always super fun and super safe.
As we called in back in 2019, Dead Of Winter 'is more than just a music and arts festival, it's a way of life'.
So save the date, share the news, plan your costumes, book an Airbnb, and and prepare for the resurrection 'cause Brisbane's heavy scene just levelled up.
Dead Of Winter Festival: The Resurrection takes place at Mansfield Tavern (Brisbane) on 27 June.
