Winston Surfshirt Australia 2025 Tour

Winston Surfshirt
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and some beyond.

Australian funk, hip hop collective Winston Surfshirt – who are nearing the release of their new studio album 'Winston' and still basking in Sir Elton John labelling them "one of my favourite Australian bands" – will tour the east-coast this spring.

Originally the solo vehicle for its eponymous frontman – singer, producer and rapper Winston – the band blend funk and hip hop with soul, R&B and juiced-up disco-house with a catalogue of hits that includes 'Be About You', 'Smile', 'For The Record' and 'Make A Move'.

With a live date already locked in for Brisbane Festival in September, Winston Surfshirt have added dates in Melbourne and Sydney this October.

A decade into their career and with three previous studio albums, 'Winston' will be released 25 July (pre-order it). The band have teased its release with the singles 'Spend My Nights', 'Ice Cream' (the track Sir Elton played on his Rocket Hour radio show), 'One Sugar' and 'Boots'.

The album's latest sonic adventure is 'Jeep', a track that leads into late '90s, early '00s R&B influences and was written during a no-WiFi writing trip in Kangaroo Valley. "Soo excited to share this new album with you all," Winston posted recently.

Melbourne and Sydney tickets on sale from 12pm (local time) on 2 July. Brisbane Festival tickets are on sale.
