Renowned as India's Mumford & Sons, indie band When Chai Met Toast will make their Australian live debut in early March.
When Chai Met Toast will headline shows in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. "We're thrilled to bring our music to Australia and share our stories with a new audience," says the band."Our journey has been about evolving and experimenting, and we can't wait to showcase this through our live performances."
Formed in 2016 and featuring lead vocalist Ashwin Gopakumar, guitarist Achyuth Jaigopal, keyboardist Palee Francis, and drummer Pai Sailesh, When Chai Met Toast have achieved major hits with their songs 'When We Feel Young', 'Khoj (Passing By)', 'Yellow Paper Daisy' and 'Kahaani'.
With their songs sung in both English and Hindi, When Chai Met Toast create gentle, charming folk-pop melodies that pleasantly wash over the senses. They have released one studio album, 2021's 'When We Feel Young'.
Their most recent release was their 2023 single collaboration with fellow Indian musician Farhan titled 'Take Me Home'.
Recently selling 12,000 tickets across 8 Indian cities – a milestone for any Indian-English artist – When Chai Met Toast have graced such stages as 2022 Singapore Formula One Grand Prix and Expo 2020 Dubai.
