West Thebarton Brothel Party Lead South Australian Music Award Nominees

The nominees are in for Music SA's South Australian Music Awards (SAM Awards), and the 'charmed' seven-piece, West Thebarton Brothel Party lead the running with a total of six nominations.

Other notable nominees include rock & rollers Bad//Dreems and pop newcomer MANE with three nominations each.

For the first time since Music SA took custodianship of the SAM Awards, publicly-voted categories have been added including Most Popular Pop, Rock, Electronic/Avant-Garde, Jazz, Experimental, Metal, Blues/Roots, Folk/Acoustic and Country Artists Max Savage came out on top with nominations in three public-voted categories (Rock, Blues/Roots and Country).



Not to be forgotten, the industry awards shine the spotlight on the organisations and people behind the scenes with categories: Best Manager, Best Festival/Music Event, Best Music Video, Best Cover Art, Best Music Venue; and for the first time the new categories: Best Engineer and Best Studio.

The Chair of Music SA, Anne Wiberg says: “The SAMs are the state’s top honour for contemporary original musicians and music industry professionals; Music SA is incredibly proud of the quality of music and practitioners our state is producing every year.




“The local music community has been a source of pride for our state for a long time now and we are indeed leading the way nationally with our commitment to improving and supporting the industry.”

The winners will be announced at the official award ceremony – opened by the Premier of SA – held at The Norwood Concert Hall on 11 November.
