‘Weird Al’ Yankovic 2023 Australia Tour

'Weird Al' Yankovic
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Marking his long-anticipated return to the world stage, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic will bring ‘The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity’ Tour to Australia in early 2023.

Weird Al (the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time) and his original band of four decades will be foregoing their usual high-octane theatrics (no costumes, no props, no video screens). . . Instead, leaning into fan-favourites and deep cuts rather than his classic parodies, in more intimate theatres and settings.

“I don’t very often get an opportunity to tour outside of North America, so it’s a huge thrill for me to come back to Australia and play a bunch of songs that most people would rather not hear,” Weird Al says.

This tour comes after Al’s highly successful 2019 ‘Strings Attached’ Tour, where he performed each night alongside a full symphony orchestra at world-renowned venues like New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, and Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Washington DC’s Wolf Trap.

Al’s long-time friend (and ‘The Idiot From UHF’ co-star) comedian Emo Philips will be opening for him throughout the tour dates.

Tickets are on sale 2 December at 11am local time.
