Horror punk, heavy metal singer and musician, Wednesday 13 is bringing his band to Australia in 2024 to perform a curated set of Murderdolls material.
A band who blazed a chaotic path with their horror-punk, glam-metal style, Murderdolls run was only brief, releasing two albums: 2002's 'Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls' and 2010's 'Women And Children Last'.The latter won the band the Revolver Golden Gods Comeback Of The Year Award. While there were sporadic rumours of Murderdolls reconvening in the late '10s, the band's other core member, and Slipknot co-founder, Joey Jordison died in 2021.
More than a decade since he last performed Murderdolls material live, Wednesday 13 will be joined by Murderdolls alumni Roman Surman and Jack Tankersley, resurrecting the group's back catalogue headlining concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth next February.
"After 21 years since its release ['Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls'], and the recent sad and premature passing of Joey, it only feels right to go out and celebrate these songs," shares Wednesday 13.
"We made two amazing albums that I was very proud of, and unfortunately much of the world didn't get a chance to hear the songs live.
"In 2018, we all got together at Joey's house and discussed plans and possibilities for the future, but we both had other immediate plans.
"We will be performing tracks from both Murderdolls albums on this upcoming tour and celebrating the legacy of the band."
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 27 July.
