So here's something kind of great — Wayne Coyne almost became a Marvel Comics artist.
Coyne is best known, of course, for being the frontman of legendary psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips, and just for being a lovable weirdo in general.
It's actually not a huge stretch to think that Coyne's distinct aesthetic might have made him the perfect man to render some of Marvel's more eccentric characters — it's not hard to imagine a Silver Surfer, Dr Strange, Adam Warlock or Guardians Of The Galaxy comic drawn by Wayne Coyne. It's a shame he became a rock star instead.
Coyne dropped this bombshell during the latest 'This Week In Marvel' podcast, where he talked about his various forays into comics over the years.
Just to confirm Coyne's fanboy credentials, here he is posing with a copy of this month's Ms Marvel #1.
