A family-friendly event showcasing live music, celebrating community and sampling the culture of food, Waterfront Festival returns to Frankston in 2025, expanding into a two-day programme (7-8 February).

Presented by Frankston City Council, Waterfront Festival has added a Friday evening of activities headlined by legendary Aussie electronic-pop duo Sneaky Sound System ('UFO', 'Pictures').

The 2007 ARIA Award Breakthrough Artist winners will be joined by the vibrant, immersive Sunshine & Disco Faith Choir offering dance-floor salvation with their gospel of disco performances, Naarm-based folktronica act Amaru Tribe (blending Latin America styles with contemporary electronic sounds) and emerging Mornington Peninsula alternative singer-songwriter Coco Michelle.

The Saturday line-up features the traditional Rotary Duck Race and Frankston Swim Classic alongside markets, stalls, workshops and food trucks including new addition The World Kitchen. Presented by Ventana, The World Kitchen is a food performance venue showcasing varying cultures and traditions through food – the universal language.

The music line-up is headlined by Australian folk duo Pierce Brothers ('Amsterdam', 'Overdose', 'High & Unsteady'), who recently supported James Blunt, who'll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their breakout EP, 'The Night Tree' (that features 'Genevieve' and 'It's My Fault').

Also on the bill is the husky-voiced Queenie, who recently presented her soulful, blues-inspired songs whilst opening for Sarah Blasko on her national tour. Queenie's 2024 album 'New Moult' is one of the year's standouts and features a trio of starkly emotive, beautiful tunes: 'Not Divine', 'Everything Sucks' and the goosebump-inducing 'Mama'.

Nine-piece West African/ Cuban collective Ausecuma Beats, Steph Strings, Lotte Gallagher, George & Noriko and Natasha Kate will also perform before a dazzling fireworks display over the bay wraps the festival up.

Waterfront Festival (Frankston) 7-8 February is the place to be for good vibes in the sun; take in the atmosphere with family and friends on the lawn, listening to tunes and sipping drinks from the garden bar.
