The 2019 return of WAMFest – one of the world's largest celebrations of local original music – brings with it a stellar line-up of artists and speakers for another multi-day feast of live music.

WAMFest transforms Perth and surrounding areas (1-2 November) into a thriving creative hub with a carefully curated line-up featuring over 100 of Western Australia’s most exciting, diverse and progressive contemporary original musicians.

The initial line-up announcement includes Perth heavyweights Ruby Boots, Abbe May, Daybreak, Demon Days, Dulcie, Grace Barbe and Downsyde alongside over 80 other acts. With a focus on showcasing the array of genres that create WA’s thriving music sector, this year’s event features the best of indie rock, hip hop, country, blues, pop, jazz and more.

Showcasing out of venues and outdoor stages in the city hub and Northbridge, the two-day event invites the public and music industry representatives to explore, discover and celebrate the abundant talent on tap in Western Australia.

Participating venues this year include The Sewing Room, Amplifier, Capitol, Holmes & Co, Wesley Church, Lucy’s Love Shack, Cheeky Sparrow, The Bird, Nevermind Smallclub, Jack Rabbit Slims, Badlands, Hen House Live, James Street Bar and The Boston plus Perth Cultural Centre, State Theatre Courtyard and Northbridge Piazza.

Speakers for WAMCon (1-2 November) have also been revealed, with this year's event focussing on issues pertaining to diversity, accessibility and sustainability featuring presentations by both emerging voices and respected industry veterans.

Rather than one major keynote, WAMCom will have two core keynotes and two semi-keynotes.

The two 'major' keynotes are from music industry legend Fifa Riccobono (whose 40-year career has included CEO of Albert Music and Director at APRA AMCOS; while she became a member of The Order Of Australia this year) and composer, songwriter, musician and producer Paul Mac (a leading figure of Australian electronic music who is a multi ARIA Award winner).

The two smaller keynotes will be Guila McGauran aka GG McG and Mark Kneebone (from Live Nation).

International guests include Tommy Hefner from Ground Control Touring, Bri Aab from Secretly Canadian and Archie Hamilton from Prophecy Records XX, all of who are at the forefront of industry developments beyond our borders.

Commenting on the Australian experience are Bec Young, founder of Collective Artist Agency, Triple J assistant music director Gemma Pike and New World Artists agent Liam Saunders, among others.

WAMCon provides essential networking and career-building opportunities as well as educational pathways for its attendees and delegates. In addition to the live performances, WAMCon features a comprehensive programme of in-conversation panels, practical masterclasses and workshops rich in real-world insights and informative advice.

Among these events is the return of one of WAMCon's most popular sessions, Music Industry Speed Dating where ticket holders get one-on-one access to industry professionals speaking at WAMCon. There's also the Quay Note Boat Party to kick off a packed weekend of music industry madness.

WAMFest is on in Perth and Northbridge 1-2 November. WAMCon is on at State Theatre Centre Of WA (Perth) 1-2 November. Click here for ticket details and more information.
