WAM’s Demos From The Wheatbelt Set For Release
The countdown has begun for the release of the Demos From The Wheatbelt compilation, the tenth iteration of the Sounds Of/ Demos From regional recording project. It features ten artists from WA’s Wheatbelt region. Demos From The Wheatbelt launches at Cummins Theatre in Merredin 30 August. The first single, 'Grass Is Greener' by Primitive Collective, is streaming now, with the full compilation live from 16 August.New Noise Collective Wrap-Up
Our youth music council, New Noise Collective have successfully concluded Library Sessions – the first project in their ongoing journey to grow and support the local all-ages music scene. Located at the State Library of WA’s Discovery Centre from April to July, the group organised five shows featuring a range of local musicians including Kopano, Ryan Beno and Mali Jose, bringing their original sounds to a unique community space. A huge achievement for the collective and they’re not slowing down. Keep your eyes peeled for a special WAMFest announcement soon from this group of young music lovers.Higher Note Workshop Returns
This year sees the third instalment of the Higher Note Workshop, designed for self-managed musicians and emerging managers keen to kick their career up a level. Facilitated by Scott Adam and featuring ten-plus learning sessions from industry experts over two days, Higher Note Workshop returns to the State Theatre Centre 15-16 August.Perth Royal Show Supporting WA Artists
We've teamed up with the Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RAS) to showcase a sample of WA’s original local music at this year’s Royal Show. Over 60 acts including Grace Sanders, Duncan Saige, Littlehawk and Sydnee Carter are set to perform at pop-up stages located throughout the showgrounds over the eight-day event (29 September to 5 October).WAMFest & WAMCon 2019 Are On The Boil
