A brief glimpse at the goings-on in the WA music industry, rounded up by WAM aka West Australian Music.
New Noise Collective
We’re proud to announce New Noise Collective, a brand-new initiative focused on nurturing Perth’s all-ages music scene and providing opportunities for young artists.New Noise Collective is a group of young people (aged 16-20) brought together to develop and implement practical ideas to grow Perth’s youth music scene. The collective is working alongside WAM’s Audience Development Officer Em Burrows to organise ongoing all-ages music events and connect young music audiences with local artists.
The first series of shows kicks off 6 April at the State Library of WA with synth-pop songstress Kopano and soulful blues duo Farraday’s Cage.
Vocal Health
WAM’s teaming up with APRA AMCOS to bring you another Music Industry Sundowner, this time addressing the importance of vocal health. We’re incredibly excited to reveal vocal health specialist and voice coach, Edwina 'Edde' Masson as our speaker for the evening.Edde is a pioneer of holistic vocal health and sought-after speaker and teacher. All local singers are encouraged to join us on Monday 29 April (6-8pm) at Cleaver Street & Co.
