Just weeks ahead of their return to Europe for a run of live dates, lead singer of Voyager, Danny Estrin has revealed a shock cancer diagnosis.
With immediate treatment prescribed, Voyager have been forced to postpone their European tour to late 2024; while the band's Australian tour (their biggest home run yet) scheduled for February 2024 remains on the calendar, for now.The jarring news arrives after an amazing year for Voyager that has seen them represent Australia at Eurovision as well as release their new album 'Fearless In Love' (which features their Eurovision song, 'Promise').
"Last week I was dealt some life-altering news: I've been diagnosed with a form of cancer that requires immediate treatment," shares Danny.
"I am absolutely devastated that we cannot perform on our forthcoming European tour, especially after this incredible Eurovision year we've had.
"I am on strict doctors' orders to not take this lightly, put my health first and get this sorted so that we can be on stage again as soon as possible.
"This has been an extremely hard decision to make, but one that everyone will hopefully understand."
Given the news, Danny and his bandmates – Alex, Ashley, Scott, and Simone – request privacy at this difficult time. Voyager will endeavour to update fans as soon as more news is available.
All the best Danny... sending love and wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
