Alternative, grungy-rockers Veruca Salt hit the stage night one of three at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on Friday 26th September.
The show was a sell-out months before along with Brisbane and Sydney — with extra shows announced to meet the demand.
Image © Carl NeumannNina Gordon, Louise Post and the band took to the stage with energetic smiles and were obviously enjoying themselves. Their huge grins throughout the night uplifted the crowd until the end, only stopping briefly for a quick “hello” between songs. They didn’t stop to rest or drop the high energy level for a moment.
Without delay, they were right into one of the more popular hits, ‘Straight', which was soon followed by 'Spiderman ’79' and, of course, the sing-along Veruca Salt anthem, ‘Seether'.
Image © Carl NeumannDuring the closing encore the effervescent 'Volcano Girls' lyrics: “Leave me lying here, ‘cause I don’t wanna go” proved fitting as the crowd yearned and pleaded for more.
It’s not too late to catch Veruca Salt as they still have some shows left in Australia on this tour.
