Venue Registrations For 2020 Umbrella Festival Now Open

Umbrella Festival is a three-week celebration of South Australian live music.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.
Update - 3 April, 2020: Umbrella Festival has had to move its 2020 dates to later in the year, in response to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. The event will now run 18 September till 4 October.

Registrations are now open for venues wanting to participate in Umbrella Festival that takes over Adelaide and regional South Australia in winter.

Whether you have a venue with an event in mind, or would like to welcome events into your venue during the festival, simply register online. Registrations are open until 4 May for inclusion in the print programme and 30 June for the online programme.

Each year since it started, Umbrella has grown in gigs by 30 per cent. Last year saw the largest increase in event registrations, rising by 89 per cent and totalling 380 live music events across 111 venues.

Out of last year's programme, 93 per cent of musicians who performed at Umbrella Festival came from South Australia, with the remaining 7 per cent coming from interstate and overseas.

Formerly called Umbrella: Winter City Sounds, the rebranded Umbrella Festival is a three-week, open-access contemporary live music festival celebrating SA's thriving live music culture.
