Australian musician Mick Hart has died. He was 50.

The news was revealed by Darren Ryan (from the Spins & Needles - The Vinyl Show on Bondi Beach Radio) on Facebook earlier this week.

"I am truly saddened by the news of the passing of not only an exceptional musician, singer, songwriter, but a truly beautiful person and a guy I was honoured to share the stage with that I could proudly call a close mate.

"Mick we all we miss you dearly; may your songs resonate in our hearts forever. Love The Fud."

Mick's debut album that he released in 2001 was titled 'Still The Flowers Bloom', which he recorded with Midnight Oil's Jim Moginie.

Hart's second record would be his most commercially recognised; 'Upside Down In The Full Face of Optimism' was nominated for Best Blues & Roots Album at the 2002 ARIA Awards.

Mick's other albums were: 'No Compromise' (2004), 'Finding Home' (2007), 'What Lies Beneath' (2009), 'Side By Side' (2012), 'Under A Vacant Sky' (2014), and 'Awake' (2019).

With a two-plus decade career, Mick also opened for some of the biggest names in the world: Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Sting, Van Morrison, Paul Weller, Gomez, The Pretenders, Paul Kelly and John Butler Trio.
