If soaking yourself in live music while immersing yourself in culture on a regional adventure spark your curiosity, then look no further than the inaugural Untamed Music Festival.
A three-day event that will take over Broome (19-21 September) in Western Australia, Untamed offers a form of urban escapism and creative connection most festivals can only dream about.Untamed is for those intrepid adventurers who don't need big stages and international headliners to feed their musical nourishment. Rather, it's about grounding to nature while unbolting from modern tech; feeling the salty air brush across your face as the red dirt gives you a better 'glow' than any tanning salon.
It all starts on the road. Packed car. Big sky. Speakers full blast. Bangers pumping. Whether you're rolling in from Perth, Fremantle, Darwin, somewhere from the east coast or just down the road, getting to Untamed is part of the story.
Once you arrive in Broome, the township will be abuzz with the excitement that comes with a new event, the locals embracing the anticipation of hosting an all-Australian line-up fronted by a number of serious OGs.
Stalwarts of the independent music scene for the last two, three decades, Untamed will welcome rock legends Spiderbait and Regurgitator, while blues-roots troubadour Ash Grunwald brings his earthy sound to Broome.
"Broome, WA β we're coming for ya! Can't wait to play at Untamed this September πΈπ," posted Spiderbait.
One of the biggest names in Australian hip hop, Drapht needs little introduction as the homegrown product brings an arsenal of hits to Untamed including such iconic Aussie raps like 'Jimmy Recard', 'Rapunzel' and 'Sing It (The Life Of Riley)'.
Veteran electronic act Mashd N Kutcher will be the party starters with such dance-floor bangers like 'Get On The Beers', 'Need Me', 'My Sunshine' and 'On My Mind', plus hopefully their dazzling drum n bass remix of iconic anthem 'You're The Voice'.
Havana Brown will maintain the energy on the dance floor with her own range of monster hits including her remix of Nelly's 'Hot In Herre', 'We Run The Night', 'Warrior' and 'Big Banana'.
The remainder of the line-up will feature electronic artist Tigerlily, roots-rock-folk duo Pierce Brothers, Perth-based alternative Indigenous rockers The Struggling Kings.
"WA holds a special place in my heart," shares Tigerlily. "It's where my now husband proposed. So, it makes me so excited to be coming back in September for my first festival post bubs π Looking forward to dancing with you all real soon!"
WA alternative singer-songwriter Abbe May, Brisbane hip hop, didjtronica group Tjaka, UK-raised Perth electronic-hip hop artist Chiseko, and Perth all-girl rockers Legs Electric will also trek to Untamed.
"Broome! My band and I will see you in September at Untamed! This is the one. You don't want to miss it. Broome, Western Australia," Abbe May says. The rest of the line-up features Yatangal, Jaime Jackett Reinvented, Jarndoo Nooloo: Women Song, Burrb Wanggaraju Nurlu and Untamed: Last Band Standing.
With an epic Welcome to Country, Untamed is powerful, grounding and unforgettable. From there, it's all in. Headliners that hit hard. Indigenous artists that stop you in your tracks.
Untamed is for those who want more. More than big stages and big names. Untamed is for people who want connection. Who crave meaning with their music. Who are ready to get dusty, dance hard, and feel something that lasts.
If you have been waiting for an experience, this is it. Broome is calling. The line-up is loud. Your next great story will start here.
