An international music competition geared toward solo artists, bands, and singers who aren't signed to a major label record company, Unsigned Only is looking to crown another winner — and the deadline is fast approaching.
In addition to $10,000 and other prizes, the Grand Prize winner will also receive one-on-one mentoring with high-profile music industry execs from Universal Republic, Capitol, Atlantic Records, Word Label Group and more. The real reason to enter, though, is to have your music heard by the panel of judges.
In 2013, the panel includes Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders), Cyndi Lauper, Iggy Pop, Carly Simon, John Oates (Hall & Oates), Eve, 3 Doors Down, Neon Trees, Brandi Carlile, Manchester Orchestra, Black Francis (The Pixies), Ryan Bingham, David Crowder, Craig Morgan, Robert Smith (The Cure), Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC), Of Monsters And Men, Wynonna, Faith Evans, Aaron Shust, Kirko Bangz, Hunter Hayes, G. Love, Jason Gray, Dustin Lynch, The Mountain Goats and more.
2013 categories include AAA (Adult Album Alternative), Adult Contemporary (AC), Christian, Country, Folk/Singer-Songwriter, Pop/Top 40, R&B/Hip-Hop, Rock, Teen (for artists 18 years old and younger), and Vocal Performance. You'll be judged on your originality, songwriting, vocals, performance, and overall likeability.
