American neo-soul, R&B artist UMI is headed to Australia in 2026.
The sonic healer, responsible for such hits as 'Remember Me', 'Wherever U R', 'Love Affair' and 'Butterfly', will headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in March.
With tour supports with the likes of Conan Gray and Jhene Aiko as well as collaborating with BTS's V ('Wherever U R'), last month UMI released her major label debut album, 'People Stories'.
A record inspired by the stories of fans and loved ones, exploring the depth of the human experience and the surprising inner connectedness of our life stories, it features the tracks 'Hard Truths feat. 6LACK' and '10am'.
"I've been really claiming my role as the STORYTELLER, NARRATOR with this album. Hi UMI, I am a singer, songwriter, and storyteller," UMI posted.
"Whenever I watch movies I absorb the stories and they become part of me (which is why I can't watch certain genres) – when people tell me stories it sparks colours and deep feelings within me.
"I've always loved the librarian aesthetic – I've been writing stories since I was little, novels and poems – I've been communicating on behalf of my family as a child of an immigrant – so it just makes sense.
"With this album and everything too, I've been claiming that I have a gift of expressing the stories of others and making them as intimate as my own. I am excited for you to see this tour I'm cooking up; and also to experience me! I love you :)."
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 5 September.
