To celebrate the thriving live and local music scene in Adelaide, Umbrella: Winter City Sounds (12-28 July) is upon us again with registrations opening on 18 March..
Set to deliver warmth and vibrancy to Adelaide once again this year, Music SA is bringing back a diverse range of musical performances throughout July.
Funded by the South Australian Marshall Government for its fourth year through the Live Music Events Fund, Music SA CEO Lisa Bishop is ecstatic. “We’ve worked very hard to build a brand that musicians, audiences, venues and promoters can own and engage with to discover and experience live music throughout the city and suburbs,” she says.
Premier Steven Marshall says due to Adelaide's continuous growth in reputation as a leading global UNESCO City of Music people are encouraged to attend the festival and experience the culture.

“With every year, the Umbrella: Winter City Sounds Festival keeps getting bigger and better. Many venues throughout the city and suburbs are brought to life with live music and lively crowds.
“I encourage everyone to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the cultural experiences that this year’s festival promises to offer,” he says.
Starting 2019 off with a bang, Music SA are partnering with Adelaide Fringe to create a new registration process that will make participation and ticketing much easier. Interested musicians, venue managers, promoters and event managers are encouraged to attend one of the information sessions to be held on Tuesday March 19 (6-8pm) and Wednesday March 20 (10am-2pm) at St Paul's Creative Centre.
Last year, Umbrella presented 383 events across 147 venues in Adelaide and suburbs. Nearly 60 per cent of events were free and 1,800 musicians were engaged with the festival.
Umbrella: Winter City Sounds will take place throughout Adelaide and surrounding areas Friday 12 July to Sunday 28 July.
