Freshly signed to deals with Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label and the Windish Agency in North America, Uberjak’d is at the forefront of the new wave of Australian club producers.
Your latest single, ‘Whistle Bounce’, achieved chart success, landing inside the top five of the ARIA Club Chart. You must be pleased?
I'm really happy with the reception to ‘Whistle Bounce’! For a track I wrote on the couch on a Sunday after a pretty big weekend I think it came up alright! I guess inspiration can hit at any time, right?
How did you react when you were signed to Dim Mak Records and The Windish Agency. Is getting that recognition validating?
I was absolutely over the moon! Windish is a great agency so I can't wait to work with them! There are about 15 dates in the 3 weeks that I'm over in USA and I can't wait to play over there!
With nearly 60,000 likes on Facebook, is it important to keep up an online presence and dialogue with your listeners?
I think just an online presence isn't important, connecting with your fans and having them feel they are a part of the journey is where it's at, because as any good artist would know you are nothing without the support of your fans.
Last year your monthly podcast, ‘The Ubercast’, hit the number one spot on the music podcast chart on iTunes. Did you expect such a great response?
Yeah, the podcast has been going really well, it was at number one last week as well! It's great to have so much support for it as I use it to promote a lot of Aussie music, so it's not just a win for me it's a win for all the guys making great music that I have on the podcast!
Your Twitter bio states your dislike of airport security... why the hate?
Oh, airport security is always killing my vibe! As always it's a few tools that give them a bad name ‘cause I’ve also met a few who are really chill. I’ve never been a huge fan of airports, but until teleporting is invented I guess I have to deal with it!
