One of the biggest names in reggae, UB40 return to Australia in 2024 celebrating 45 years of chart-topping hits.
Set to release their newest album 'UB45' later this month (19 April), the band – featuring original members Jimmy Brown (drums), Robin Campbell (guitar, vocals), Earl Falconer (bass guitar, vocals) and Norman Hassan (percussion, trombone, vocals) as well as current vocalist Matt Doyle (of fellow Birmingham reggae band Kioko) who replaced the retired Duncan Campbell in 2021 (following a stroke Campbell suffered the previous year) – will play a six-city run in October. With a legacy that includes 100 million albums sold globally and such iconic hits as 'Red Red Wine', 'Can't Help Falling In Love', 'Food For Thought', 'Please Don't Make Me Cry' and 'Kingston Town', fans have the opportunity to hear these timeless classics live in Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
"We're visiting some pretty exotic places on this world tour including Latin America, the Caribbean and the East, but we are always buzzing to come back to Australia," Robin Campbell says.
"The welcome we get from the fans down there is special and we can't wait to return with our new album 'UB45'."
UB40 recently achieved their 51st hit single, having landed a Top 10 hit single in the official UK charts with 'Forever True', a reworking of their debut 1980 hit 'Food For Thought', that is an anthem dedicated to their home town Birmingham City Football Club.
The tour will see UB40 joined by Swedish rock, post-grunge artist Eagle-Eye Cherry, best known for his 1997 anthem 'Save Tonight'.
Tickets on sale from 1pm (local time) on 17 April.
