Indie pop dance punks Two Door Cinema Club and dream-pop rocker Declan McKenna have teamed for a co-headline tour of Australia.
Set to land in December, the Northern Ireland band and English singer-songwriter will perform concerts in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Wollongong, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Newcastle. Perth indie outfit Soft Launch will open each show.The trio of Alex Trimble, Kevin Baird, and Sam Halliday, indie-dance darlings Two Door Cinema Club have released five studio albums since their 2010 debut 'Tourist History' (which conceived the bangers 'What You Know', 'Undercover Martyn' and 'Something Good Can Work').
Since releasing 2022 album 'Keep On Smiling', Two Door Cinema Club have released the singles 'Sure Enough' (2023) and 'Happy Customers' (2024), adding to their catalogue that features such classics as 'Sun', 'Are We Ready?','Sleep Alone', and 'Changing Of The Seasons'.
After making his Australian live debut at the start of 2024, including playing Heaps Good Festival in Brisbane and Adelaide, 'Brazil', 'British Bombs', and 'The Key To Life On Earth' artist Declan McKenna returns having released his third LP, 'What Happened To The Beach?' in February.
Set to open for Imagine Dragons on their European summer tour next year as well as supporting Sabrina Carpenter on her upcoming US arena tour, 'What Happened To The Beach?' – which was produced in California with Gianluca Buccellati (Arlo Parks, Lana Del Rey – finds McKenna trusting his music intuition as his songwriting confidence grows fostering an ability to focus on ambience and space within an individual song.
"If every song features a lyrical statement, then it loses some of its impact, too. I haven't let go of that aspect of myself, but I don't want to live out that style forever," he notes.
