Saul Williams will star in Broadway musical 'Holler If Ya Hear Me', based on the songs of Tupac Shakur.
Much like 'Mamma Mia', 'We Will Rock You' or *shudder* 'Viva Forever', 'Holler If Ya Hear Me' is based on 2Pac's work, but is not meant to tell his life story. Written by Todd Kreidler and directed by Kenny Leon, it's billed as "a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope".
Saul Williams, a poet, singer, musician, writer and actor, will star, surrounded by a veteran cast that includes Tony winner Tonya Pinkins and Tony nominee John Earl Jelks. Previews will begin on May 29, with all eyez on opening night at the Palace Theatre on June 19.
