After 2014's Tay Tay trolling, triple j has instituted a clause to prevent Swiftie attacks of Gaga proportions from taking Directioners.
The #Tay4Hottest100 battle – led by Buzzfeed Australia almost jeopardised the hipster's countdown – won't be a problemeo this year. Much like the government, they're urging voters to have fun, but play fair. Triple j announced the Tay Tay trolling rule this morning via its website.
"Don’t troll the poll. Votes made as part of a competition that promotes a song or artist, or a campaign that undermines the Hottest 100 may be disqualified or ignored.
We want genuine votes, from genuine listeners. If we feel something’s preventing that from happening, we’ll look into it for you and take appropriate action.

“It’s not legit for other media to try and troll the poll,” they say. They obvs still haven't Shaken It Off yet.
From this day forward, the cats who adore the indie cred of the jays will no longer be tempted to vote for 'mainstream' or 'commercial' music should the public broadcaster not allow it.
Still not sure if this will squash votes deemed to threaten the sacred countdown, or cause a Wrecking Ball in troll city. #DontStopBeliebin
