Hot on the heels of the Hottest 100 Countdown, we took a gander at some of the juicy facts Triple J have released about Sunday's poll that are set to make this year's Hottest 100 bigger than ever.
2018 was a massive year for Australian music. The upcoming Countdown has broken previous polls, with an unprecedented 2.7 million votes (2,758,584 to be exact for those keeping score).
Clearly, Aussies love getting involved in the thick of the music industry doing their part to make sure the artists they love get recognition. Bonzer!
Out of the Hottest 100 artists there are 21 newcomers, who will be featured for the first time this year. Of the shortlisted tunes, 65 are from Australian artists, 31 of which were first heard on Triple J's Unearthed platform.
Another 5 of the featured Hottest 100 tracks were uploaded to Triple J Unearthed in 2018. Local content rules.
We know that two artists have come away with back-to-back featured songs. There will also be eight artists that have pulled off the hat-trick, having been featured in the Hottest 100 three years running. You'll have to tune into Triple J on Sunday (27 January, from midday EST) to find out who made the cut.
