Travalley are a two-piece indie rock band currently based in Melbourne.
Since moving from regional Victoria to the heart of Melbourne, Travalley have gone through several incarnations to become the distinct band they are today as a two-piece.
This stripped-back line-up has allowed the group to focus on their signature sound of catchy hooks and pristine harmonies, encased in an upbeat euphony of driving drums and jangly guitars. All the while still maintaining a live sound that can only be described as BIG.
Travalley recently released a new batch of music. "Our first EP in yonks 'HOME' has finally hit all streaming platforms!
"Go give it a listen and feel free to share your favourite song on your story and to friends and family to help get it out there.
"We have changed our sound up a bit for these tracks, so we are really keen to see what you think."
Currently on tour, Travalley list some of their favourite Australian indie acts. "Because our EP is called 'Home' we decided to choose 5 local artists from around Australia."
1: Old Mervs (WA)
The WA boys have been absolutely smashing it at the moment playing sold-out shows all over Australia and releasing track after track. Everything about them reminds me of the come up Spacey Jane had. Very exciting times ahead and I can't wait to catch them live.
2: Sophisticated Dingo (VIC)
From playing our first show together opening for Pacific Avenue to then playing a sold-out show in the Horsham Theatre, we have had so many fun gig experiences with the Sophisticated Dingo fellas.
They have been releasing tunes for what seems like monthly and every new song seems to outdo the last. Go see them live, you will not regret it.
3: Harry Lamb (QLD)
Growing up and playing shows with Harry Lamb, he might be one of Australia's unfound gems. He is one of the very few people we have heard cover Matt Corby and do it justice.
He has been playing all around Australia, building up a huge fan base and the crazy thing is, he hasn't even released a single yet.
He has supported the likes of Kim Churchill, Ziggy Alberts and Kyle Lionhart, so go check him out on Instagram and let him know why he should release some music. Australian music would be better with Harry Lamb music in it.
4: Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers (Canberra)
After meeting TJATJT through friends of friends at a party, we have non-stop been smashing their tunes and following their progress which has skyrocketed the last few years.
Seeing how much they go back to play their home town Canberra gives us so much hope that super successful bands still appreciate their home-grown status.
5: Selfish Sons (QLD)
Where do we start with Selfish Sons. After meeting Finn at Splendour a few years ago, we got chatting about music. He told me he played in a band out of Brisbane, and they were just starting to play a few shows around Australia.
Fast-forward to now and they just supported Kid Laroi and Lil Wayne. These guys have absolutely exploded onto the scene and feel super special to have seen the growth from the start.
