Charlie Boyle aka Rattraps is a juke and footwork DJ/ producer from Brisbane. The self-proclaimed cheese connoisseur will be playing the Big Pineapple Music Festival next month. Here he offers five clubber stereotypes.
1. The ‘it’s my friends birthday, play this song’ girl.
Without fail I get this at every single event. It wouldn’t be so bad if the request was even slightly related to what was currently being played. Sorry but I'm not playing Katy Perry’s ‘ET’ out of a footwork track.
2. The ‘I’m a DJ as well’ guy.
Really? That's rad! Fuck off.
3. The ‘you got any pingers?’ girl.
No. No I don't.
4. The ‘dancing really sexy among this group of girls will get me laid’ drunk guy.
I really admire this guy; he sticks it out to the awkward end. Sometimes he brings his fedora along. Sometimes he succeeds. Most of the time he does not.
5. The ‘you wanna go mate?’ overly enthusiastic bruss.
It's coming to the end of the night, the pretty girls have either left with their friends or the nice guys and now the brusses are frustrated and need to touch someone, no matter who or how. Most of the time this eventuates in someone being punched in the head; it's always fun when the victim is another bruss.
Rattraps will be spinning footwork/ juke styles at the Big Pineapple Music Festival at the Big Pineapple Complex Saturday May 17.
