We asked Lily what her favourite childhood songs are:
1. Peaches - Presidents Of The United States of America
As a little girl this was definitely my favourite song. I used to love singing it and was fascinated why someone would write a song about peaches in the first place. It was the first cassette tape I owned and the first video clip I remember loving (but who doesn’t love ninjas stealing peaches).2. Mmmbop - Hanson
I think this song has to be on all '90s kids favourite song lists because it is just that good! I remember my mum taking me to a Make Your Own Video shop and I lipsynced and danced to this song as well as 'Barbie Girl', in front of a video camera wearing black denim overalls with a side pony tail. I still have the video.3. Bring It All Back - S Club 7
The S Club era… This song, quite literally brings it all back! The memories I have to this song, singing it into my karaoke microphone at the top of my lungs, memorising the choreography to the video clip. These guys were the first group I really was obsessed with. Magazines, dolls, videos, CDs. I knew every word to every song, had a crush on one of the boys. It’s something I should definitely be embarrassed sharing, but once a S Club kid, always a S Club kid.4. Hello Goodbye - The Beatles
When I was eight years old my mum and I lived in Bali for some months; I brought over my guitar, a pair of drum sticks and the one CD that was constantly playing was ‘1’ a compilation album by The Beatles. We lived next to an English man and he was the one that truly introduced me to Beatlemania. We jammed to this song singing and playing instruments. His favourite song soon became one I really loved.5. Wannabe - Spice Girls
I fancied myself as a Spice Girl for sure. I even had a Spice Girl fifth birthday party. This song most definitely has to be in my top 5, I loved it. GIRL POWER!Lily plays The Seed Project at QPAC on Friday August 15.
